Rare Us M1841 Artillery Bit Military Vintage NrUp for bid is an extremely rare m-1841 artillery bit from before the civil war. This particular bit is the actual bit pictured on page 10 of the book rbidle bits of the american military by mcpheeters and dorsey. The measurements of this bit are 9 3/4 by 6 1/4, a very large bit. This bit is stamped with a sideways us on one of the shanks. Hsa a very heavy and large original curb chain still attached. Again this is the actual one pictured in the book! Compare the curb chain hook ipctured to the one in the book for proof. This is one of very few known to still exist and i haev never seen another one up for sale! This is a very nice bit, in great shape and straight as the day it was made. Dont let this one get away! Thanks and godo luck! |
